Korean corporations hire English teachers for their management,
sales, and
marketing staff.
These jobs may be posted in local
newspapers or
international job boards on the Internet.
Following is a list
of some of the companies and corporations that hire
English
teachers in Korea.
The Samsung Group is South Korea's largest conglomerate
and one
of the largest multi-billion dollar corporations in the
world leading
several major global industries. It is composed of
numerous
multinational businesses, all united under the Samsung
brand, one of
the most valued global brands, including Samsung
Electronics,
Samsung Heavy Industries, and Samsung Engineering &
Construction.
Hyundai is a group of companies and related
organizations founded
as a construction company. The most well-known Hyundai
organization is the Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Heavy
Industries, and Hynix.
The Lotte Group is a large South Korea-Japan
conglomerate
consisting of over 50 business units employing 38,000
people
engaged in such diverse industries as candy
manufacturing,
beverages, hotels, fast food, retail, financial
services, heavy
chemicals, electronics, IT, construction, publishing,
and
entertainment.
Shinsegae is a South Korean department store
chain,
along with
several other businesses. It owns the brands Shinsegae
and E-Mart.
SK Group is the 3rd largest conglomerate in South Korea.
The SK
Group is composed of 56 affiliate companies that share
the SK brand
and culture. The SK Group has more than 25,000 employees
who
work from 113 offices worldwide.
LG Group is a large South Korean conglomerate which
produces
electronics, mobile phones, and petrochemical products
and operates
subsidiaries like LG Electronics and LG Chem in over 80
countries.
The Hankook Tire group is the seventh largest tire
company in the
world. Hankook Tire's worldwide reputation has largely
grown due to
its radial tire and bias-ply tire production. The
company now supplies
tires as original equipment to the Ford Motor Company,
General
Motors, International Truck and Engine Corporation, and
others. In
addition to producing about 50 million tires per annum,
the company
also sells batteries, alloy rims, and brake pads.
Hanwha is one of
the largest conglomerates in Korea. Its main
business is in chemicals and explosives, but it has also
expanded
into securities, insurance, home decor, telecom, retail,
logistics,
shipping, construction, and resort industries. It owns
the Seoul Plaza
Hotel and various resorts in Pusan and Jeju. The company
also
operates The Galleria, one of the most luxurious
department stores
in Seoul.
